Saturn and Venus in Cancer - Mars in Aries - George Bush Pardons Scooter Libby

sadasiva | Forecasts | Wednesday, July 4th, 2007

On July 12th Saturn finally moves into Leo, after being in and out of Cancer for close to three years. However, between now and July 12th we can expect the same sort of start and stop frustration that we have been experiencing for the last several weeks.

The reason we’ve been feeling this way primarily is due to the relationship between Mars and Saturn. Mars is the rash and impulsive force of action. Mars wants it right now - Saturn is the slow-moving, patient one.

Mars entered Aries on June 16. At that time Saturn was at 27° of Cancer, the very end of that sign. As soon as Mars entered Aries several firefighters died when a warehouse collapsed on them as they were performing their firefighting duties and wildfires began raging out of control. Since then, unfortunate terrorist events/explosions and many other Mars type of things have been occurring, showing an upswing when compared to the previous month and a half when Mars was in Pisces. Mars entering Aries brings a spirit of initiation, impulse and force - nature and world events reflect this spirit.

Yet Saturn is the planet of our long-term plans and goals. Saturn has been hovering around the last degrees of Cancer for close to a month now. For the last 2 1/2 years he has been in and out of sign of Cancer (mainly in the sign) - trying to strengthen our emotional core and deepest vulnerabilities. Saturn is the slow-moving one who makes sure we have the opportunity to get the lesson right before he settles into the next sign for three years.

So this leaves us with the relationship between Saturn and Mars. We are ready to act decisively and with inspiration, (Mars in Aries) but feel inhibited and uncertain because we can sense a big change is about to happen, but we’re not sure exactly which course to take. Or, we know exactly what course to take but circumstances need to change before we can act accordingly (Saturn in Cancer).

Additionally, Venus has been within a degree of Saturn for the last several days. This is why you’ve not felt very romantic or sexual, or necessarily joyful, for about a week.

President Bush pardoned Scooter Libby today. This was shown by the Saturn/Venus conjunction in the Presidents first house. The timing of this move is quite interesting. Considering Saturn is about to move into the sign of Leo, and join malefic Ketu there, this event could easily be a catalyst for a pretty nasty backlash against his policies. The president has been losing supporters left and right. His immigration bill got crushed last week - failure after failure.

These events coincide with what I have predicted about the sign, with Saturn and Ketu in Leo for the next 10 months or so. Disgrace and humiliation for the landed power structures will occur. The revelation that King has no clothes. Tony Blair has already met with a disgraceful exit. The knighthood of Salman Rushdie also seems like a foolish event that has galvanized voice of dissent in the UK. I would not be surprised if something drastic happens in Cuba, especially the death of Fidel Castro.

Beyond world politics, Saturn’s transit through Cancer has affected each of us relative to the sign Cancer rules from our ascendent.

Aries: Saturn has strengthened your commitment to emotional peace - preparing you for a creative Renaissance

Taurus: Saturn has strengthened your commitment to flexibility and courage -preparing you for an emotional rebirth with newfound insights.

Vedic Astrology Forecast - Summer Solstice - Mars - Mercury Retrograde

sadasiva | Forecasts | Thursday, June 21st, 2007

Today was the first day of summer, the summer solstice. This is an important day Astronomically for the Earth in its orbit around the Sun. It marks an important transition point in the direction of the earth’s orbit. From this day until the first day of winter the days will be getting shorter. Since first day of winter they have been progressively getting longer, with more sunshine.

In addition to the two solstice points, the shortest and longest days of the year, the other two importance points in the earth’s orbit around the Sun are the Equinox points. The Equinox points occur when the Sun moves North or South of the celestial equator (the Earth’s equator projected into space). At these Equinox points we have the beginning of spring and fall on earth

Below is a timeline of the Earth’s annual orbit around the Sun , beginning with the first day of spring. This information was taken from my Vedic astrology level two class. See the diagram linked here - http://weekly-horoscope.net/solstice.htm

A. On the Spring equinox day, the celestial equator intersects with the ecliptic as the Sun moves North. The Sun’s rays fall equally everywhere on earth that day as the most direct point of contact of Sunlight to the Earth is at the equator.

B. On the summer solstice the Earth begins its Souther course. On this day we see the Southern Hemisphere of the Earth tilted away from the Sun. The Sun’s most direct rays are felt in the Northern Hemisphere that day. (the first day of Summer for them)

C. On the Fall equinox day, the celestial equator intersects with the ecliptic as the Sun moves South. The Sun’s rays fall equally everywhere on earth that day as the most direct point of contact of Sunlight to the Earth is at the equator.

D. On the winter solstice the Earth begins its Northern course. On this day we see the Northern Hemisphere of the Earth tilted back from the Sun. The Sun’s most direct rays are felt in the Southern hemisphere that day. (the first day of Summer for them)

In addition to the summer solstice, many planets have changed signs since my last forecast. Venus is now 20° of cancer - long since established in his sensitive and nurturing sign. But most significantly the Sun is now in Sidereal Gemini and Mars in Sidereal Aires. There’s quite a different energy at play now than there was even a week ago when the Sun was still in Taurus and Mars was in Pisces. The spirit of initiation and restlessness is definitely upon us.

The month and a half transit of Mars through Pisces was a time of spiritual rejuvenation and rededication to the path of discipline — putting into practice what we have learned, not just thinking about it. The transition from Pisces to Aires is analogous to a transition from gestation to birth. Pisces as the 12th sign is related to things that preceed birth and that are deeper than our embodied condition - our subconscious state, our dream state, etc. Pisces not only precedes our physical body, or those of humans or animals — it also precedes all ideas and activities. Pisces shows the mystical, intuitive connection to our larger cosmic purpose. If we are attuned to this deeper, Universal wisdom — for example through meditation or other transcendental states of being — our actions will emanate from that deeper source and hold the promise of it.

However, Pisces is also the sign of escapism, fantasies and illusions. Sometimes (or even, generally) those things proceed our actions as well. All activities, people have a gestation period - they were formed by an imperceptible cosmic influence - by their karma. Pisces, and the 12th house shows the repository of karmic will and inertia that extends over lifetimes, as well as the subconscious mind of the moments that forms each persons life or each event we take in that life.

How we prepare for an event has a lot to do with determining its outcome once it begins. Now that Mars is in Aires, his own sign, we are gifted with the opportunity to put that cosmic purpose into action - and to have that deeper nature infuse all of our actions. This next month is very good for starting new businesses or endeavors of all sorts, especially after July 9 when Mercury turns direct. Is also a good time to make a clean break from the past — especially if you have been struggling with certain scenarios that have not worked out, and through sensitive contemplation realize a change is needed. Of course, you may also make a very rash decision based on a sort of unconscious, deluded and hypnotic state of reflection.

Mercury retrograde Alert! — Yes, Mercury is retrograde until July 9 so everyone’s favorite astrological whipping boy has returned. Blame all of your troubles now on Mercury retrograde!! LOL - I hate to spoil everyone’s fund but Mercury is actually stronger when retrograde (just like every other planet) because it’s closer to the Earth at that time. The only reason you have problems with Mercury retrograde is because of your negligence with the details. Mercury retrograde cycles just make you aware of this negligence by creating tricks and traps and things that mess up which make you manage those details better next time around. Mercury retrograde cycles are good for writing and all sorts of intellectual introspective actions like reading and gathering knowledge or research.

Venus Leaves Gemini - Weak Until 11/30/07

sadasiva | Forecasts | Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Venus leaves Gemini tomorrow and enters Cancer. Have you felt more creative since Mercury entered Gemini last week? Have you felt full of ideas and filled with ingenuity as I had said last week? Well, I sure have. Let’s hope your creative spark already happened. Venus in Cancer is not nearly as imaginative or creative. When Venus is in cancer there’s a possibility for lot of devotion and love — but also a lot of attachment to the emotions, food and other sort of “comfort producing” activities.

Venus is the planet that leads us to worldly happiness. Venus shows what we are desiring. The signs she transits shows a certain level of desire awakening in us at a given time. These desires may be healthy or unhealthy depending on many factors. Venus is best in air signs or earth signs. Intelligence (air) and usefulness (earth) bring forth her highest qualities. Fire and water signs tend to bring about too much passion and sentiment. Our desires become aggressive and demanding (fire) or mixed with excessive emotion (water) - to our detriment. Yet, Venus is exalted in a water sign, Pisces and debilitated in an earth sign, Virgo. No one said astrology would be easy or always neat and clean. This is one example, and easily explainable. But in general after Venus makes the transition from Gemini, there is usually at least a three months of challenges with our desires that follow.

I say three months because typically Venus goes through Cancer where she is not strong, Leo where she is not strong, then Virgo where she is debilitated. This year however Venus will go retrograde — beginning in Leo, then back through Cancer. This means Venus will be in a difficult position, based on zodiac sign, until *gasp* November 30, 2007 when she enters the first degree of Libra - six months from now.

For the next six months, in varying degrees or another, we will be challenged to purify our desires. We will be challenged to look beyond sentiment and comfort producing activities for ourself and others (Cancer), the drama of self-importance and personal individuality (Leo), or in managing/micromanaging every routine ad infinitum (Virgo).

In many ways Venus has what we all want, happiness. It is really that simple isn’t it? We all want to be happy. Where will we find our happiness? For the next several months we will try to find it through love and caretaking, being praised and feeling powerful, and trying to tidy up all the little details in life — all to no avail.

There is only one source of happiness — God. (In whatever form it means to you) That which is bigger than our ability to control or manipulate through our actions or understand through our own mind is God. When we are aligned with God we are aligned with the true source of happiness. When we are aligned with our ego (our limited nature) we will seek the transcendent bliss of the soul through limited, worldly forms. This is ultimately why Venus is exalted in Pisces. Our desire to experience worldly pleasure is shown by Venus. Mistaking finite, pleasurable experiences to be the ultimate expression of our infinite, blissful self is a major cause of suffering. At some point we realize, no matter how much sex drugs and rock-and-roll we get, it is not the real thing. There is no food that tastes as good or music that sounds as good or sex that feels as good as the current of God consciousness that is flowing deep within us. Our pursuit of pleasure through the senses drains our energy — the pursuit of happiness as our truthful self, as God, rejuvenates us on every level. The exalted nature of Venus in Pisces orients our pleasure seeking and happiness with the ultimate goal: liberation and devotion to God - devotion to our highest self.
