hello folks, it has been awhile huh?
I will not bore everyone with the “I have been busy” speech. But you know,… (voice trailing off)
Onto astrology! A lot has been happening astrologically since my forecasts of last year. Of note, Jupiter is firmly established in Scorpio by now, more than 20 degrees longitude to be precise. Jupiter just entered Scorpio in late October. He always seems to be moving faster than I think. It is peculiar when you realize that Jupiter stays a full year in each sign. Yet he spends five of those months retrograde.
The most significant effect recently is the Jupiter/Mars exchange.
Jupiter and Mars are currently in each other signs. Jupiter is in Scorpio, ruled by Mars and Mars is in Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter. When planets occupy each others signs it is very similar to people living in each others houses. In this type of arrangement, even planets with inimical energies toward each other will agree to share while they are living in each others house. Think if you were living in your enemy’s house and your enemy was living in your house. Despite your differences you would agree to get along during that period of time. In the case of Jupiter and Mars however, they are actually very good friends. In fact Jupiter is like a big brother of Mars. Jupiter is the planet of long-term vision and ideals, perhaps even religion. Mars is the energy and vitality we put forth toward those long-term goals. Thus, Jupiter and Mars, as two male planets, work together naturally. The influence of one without the other is generally not very effective.
For example, Jupiter’s vision without the action of Mars, may leave us with a lot of big ideas that go nowhere. Also, the action oriented nature of Mars can be reckless, aggressive and distracted unless aligned with a worthy goal, which comes from Jupiter.
The last couple weeks and the next few weeks will be ideal for making progress in your life and facing challenges, important challenges. But of course realize others are also facing important challenges and trying to make progress themselves. Notice the political climate and latest controversy over the commitment to additional US troops in Iraq. There seems to be hopeful opportunity in the administration and an equally idealistic nature that opposes further increases and troop levels. Also, notice the presidential hopefuls each testing their own message / competing with each other. This healthy competition and aggressive enthusiasm aligned with a worthy cause is a perfect example of Mars/Jupiter energy properly aligned..
Beyond these worldly concerns, on a personal level this next couple of weeks will be a great time to recommit to our long-term goals, which especially includes personal fitness and health regimens - especially if those regimens include physical action like working out or doing yoga or becoming more disciplined about eating habits, etc.
On a more personal note, I am dedicated again to reestablishing the free offerings I had been doing in the past, largely uninterrupted until December last year. That includes this newsletter, my written daily horoscope and my daily horoscope podcast. Suffice to say, at the end of last year I was so busy for two and half months I was praying to my beloved Sat Guru Ammachi to be able to finish all of the work she has blessed me to do. I have had a little backlash against that and now I am back on the scene - full speed ahead.
Best Wishes,
Sadasiva

Hi Sadsiva — Namaste. Aussie Kit here.
It is excellent to have you back on the airwaves again and I want you to know that YOU TRULY ARE APPRECIATED and it is wonderful to read your thoughtful astrologial wisedom too — Thank you!!
I must also add that I have downloaded the last 3 podcasts and they were high quality sound with no problem whatsoever. I’m sorry to see that George (above) had a problem but I had no such difficulty. So the mystery deepens!!!
Looking forward to hearing more of your daily scopes - I love that charming voice of yours! A million thanks to you.
Anyway - I will be in touch with you shortly to book a private reading with you. Just working out questions now.
Kit

haha you are right .. it is something with the streaming audio - hmm, let me try something
The podcasts are fine, at least i think they are.
BTW - ON behalf of the girly chipmunk anti-defamation league I must ask: Have you got something against girly chipmunks?
Comment by sadasiva — February 1, 2007 @ 9:08 pm
well i deleted the source wav files so the girly chipmunks will be in fiull force at least until this monday.
i have already recorded and uploaded podcasts through monday and do not want to re-do them.
I think i can fix it after that though..
i have new (faster) wav to mp3 converter and it must be doing something weird with the conversion that distorts when streamed..
try saving the files on your computer and playing them with windows media player -
like this:
Go to http://freedailyhoroscope.org - then:
1. find the days podcast -
2. right click -
3. select “save as” on the file to (to save on your computer) -
4. then download it and play it with Windows media player,
It is fine

i did some research into this tonight (with Moon in Virgo!) and found out
the chipmunk thing only happens with Macromedia Flash players
(like the one provided by LibSyn, or the one on MySpace).
here is the story, from my podcast-player website:
Audio sounds like the Chipmunks
http://www.bigcontact.com/feedplayer-help.php#2
“There are two numbers to be aware of when you are creating your mp3s: sampling rate and bit rate. The Feed Player, due to limitations of Macromedia’s Flash, only understands mp3s with sampling rates of 11k, 22k and 44k. We suggest a sampling rate of 22k or 44k (a cd’s sampling rate).
“And while we are talking about creating your mp3 files: bit rate: the higher the bit rate the higher the sound quality but the larger the file size. For talk podcasts a bit rate of as low as 32k or 64k can sound good. For music podcasts 128k will provide plenty of quality.
“You should change these settings in the software you use to produce your podcast mp3s. Review your software’s instructions on how to do this. An educated guess: try clicking on file or edit and look for preferences or options. It probably will have a setting for ‘Export Settings’ or similar.
“You can check your mp3 files’ sampling and bit rates in iTunes. Play the mp3 in iTunes and right click (PC) or control click (Mac) the track and ‘Get Info.’ The summary will show you your track’s sampling and bit rates.
“To change your existing mp3s to a different sampling and/or bit rate you can convert the file within iTunes if you like. Go to edit> preferences> audio. Select ‘MP3 Encoder’ and for ‘Setting’ select ‘custom…’ Change the settings you want (see first and second paragraphs above.) You may also want to click ‘advanced’ to see which folder on your computer iTunes will be storing your newly converted file. Click ‘ok.’ Next, right click (PC) or control click (Mac) the track and selct ‘Convert Selection to Mp3.’ ”
checking the data on Sam’s podcast for today Feb 5, gave these results:
sample rate: 32.00 kHz / bitrate: 96 kbps
[ preferred: sample rate: 22 or 44 / bitrate: 32 or 64 ]
surprisingly, Libsyn recommends a sample rate of 32 for talk podcasts,
[ http://www.libsyn.com/rec_size_chart.html ]
so this is probably the source of the problem.
hope this helps!
PS - i host Sam’s forecast podcast on MySpace …
its mid-page on the right side (-not- the i-pod music player, toward the top)
